Jonas Guitars of Boulder Colorado is owned by a local artist in the custom guitar building business. For years this small shop has experimented with quality, forms, shapes, woods, and sounds. The guitars produced in the shop are carefully crafted by Jonas or an apprentice with the help of the master. As time has passed, students have brought in their own designs and his assortment of instruments is impressive.

With any small business comes financial challenges. Financial challenges are overcome with cashflow and students, and sales. Advertising, which would otherwise bring growth, requires a budget and therefor a business can remain challenged. In recognition of the challenge this attractive business has been facing, Unified Associates has presented the resources to help with promotions and sales. Jonas Guitars is a perfect example of a good local business that provides an important service to its community and that’s why Unified Associates is happy to be involved.

With the many projects taking place around the greater metropolitan area, minority contractors are encouraged to participate in the work. Communications become critical between the major contractors in partnership with minority and non-minority subcontractors.

Dbetoday.com provides a service to the major contractors in charge of the billion dollar contract. Their many announcements need to be in front of those who need it. By providing a centralized web portal, everyone involved in the news can be kept informed.

As a young, company, Dbetoday.com has reached out to Unified Associates to help sponsor its costs while reaching for goals. Unified Associates is now in proud partnership with Dbetoday.com and hopes to see their viewership grow.

In an effort to keep the program running on all cylinders, CALMING KIDS:Creating a Non-Violent World, the non-profit organization out of Boulder has received a generous donation from Unified Associates. The Boulder company is responsible for bringing anti-bullying awareness to schools across the country through education of guardians, teachers, and instructors.

The program began in 2005 with Dee Marie, C.Y.T., with the long term goal of helping school children everywhere deal with stresses of peer to peer existence as well as by aiming at the core, relating to oneself and others. The program shows children the path to finding balance, feeling whole, and learning coping strategies to use in everyday life.

The Sports Riders Association of Colorado is proving their competitors are on the cutting edge. The new transponder system from Unified Associates will take all the guess work out of manual and electric-eye finish line crossings. Riders are equipped with a label containing a magnetic strip which is immediately read when passed through a scanner waiting at the checked flag. Accuracy is in accordance with international standards, and can be measured down to a millisecond.

SRAC events will now be clocked in real time and each racer’s statistics available instantly to the world through LAN connected data collection devices. Each race will be followed LIVE online as the network is fed updates while the action is going on.

Motocross racing among amateurs has continued to be exhilarating to both participants and viewers alike. For this reason, it’s competitiveness has forced the non-profit association to become more visible. The new transponder that each rider will now wear, undoubtedly is going to bring more recognition to both the sport and the amateurs competing for cash and national championships.

Thanks to a generous donation from Unified Associates, the SRAC organization has gained one more step in achieving its goals.

The Congressional “super committee” that is seeking ways to close the federal budget deficit is giving the nonprofit world a super headache.

Nonprofit advocates have waged a fierce lobbying campaign to convince the committee, which is supposed to make its recommendations next week, not to limit the value of the charitable deduction in its quest for more revenue. But despite their entreaties, they have not been able to get the 12 members of the secretive panel to spill the beans about what’s under consideration.

“They’re all saying, ‘We’re not making any comments,’ ” says David L. Thompson, vice president for public policy at the National Council of Nonprofits, which has mobilized an army of nonprofit activists across the country to contact super-committee members and other members of Congress.
