Charity Fundraising -Ways to get Involved
Philanthropic activities such as charity fundraising are such a rewarding way to occupy one’s extra time, not to mention the millions of lives that are touched by, and benefit from, fundraising. There are so many causes and foundations these days that need help or are in financial crisis. If all of us just took a few hours out of our week or a few dollars out of our pockets and gave, the rewards those in need could reap would be tremendous. There are so many charitable foundations these days that everybody can find a cause to support.
How To Help
Also, there are so many ways to donate or support a cause that you may be doing it during your daily routine and not even know it. For example, buying from merchants that give back, or buying from companies that are friendly to the environment, are great ways to support the causes you love without the need to significantly change your routine.
There are so many large businesses and corporations that donate portions of their proceeds to different charitable foundations. In these difficult economic times individuals as well as large corporations are trying to find means to survive and still possibly give back to those less fortunate. It is difficult to find the means to give back these days when so many are just trying to keep their heads above water.
Aside from giving time, charity fundraising can be done in a number of ways. Presently there are thousands of merchants that offer you the opportunity to make donations to a specific cause while you’re checking out. Some will ask if you’d like to donate a dollar or two to their specific cause. Some merchants only do this during certain times of the year, such as holidays. Of course it’s logical that merchants will target Christmas time since it s the biggest shopping season of the year to solicit donations. In addition to spending more money during that time of year, people are often in a more giving mood.
Merchants That Give Back
Another approach merchants use to do charity fundraising is donating portions of their sales during a specified block of time of their normal daily hours of operation. Some of these merchants even give you the option of choosing from a list of different causes, which charity you’d like your donated purchase dollars to go. Yet another approach is instead of donating funds, you will be asked by a customer service representative if you’d like to purchase an item to donate to a specific cause. Another extremely simple and fun method of donating is there are websites where you can sign up for membership to their website. You then select a charity or cause of your choice to support. If the cause you want to support is not among the list of preselected charities, you can suggest a cause to add to the list.
